50K/50K
Please relay at the 50K aid
station and be sure you check in at this station by signing the clipboard as to
your second runner’s start time. Make sure you allow enough time for your second
runner to get to the finish line before 5:30pm by starting at the appropriate
5:00 am or 7:00 am start times.
5:00 am vs. 7:00 am Early Start Times
If you do not think you can
finish in less than 10 hours please choose the 5:00 am start time. If you are
faster than 10 hours, you may go at 7:00 am. Fast solo runners and fast 50K/50K
teams should not start at 5:00 am. We will not guarantee some of the aid
stations will be open if you out run the projected pace.
Transportation to the Start
The race will provide
transportation to the 5:00 am and 7:00 am start in Finland
from the finish line. If you are in the 5:00 am
start, the van will leave at 3:00 am. If you are in the 7:00 am start, it will
leave at 5:00 am. You MUST tell us if you are requiring a ride to the start.
Space is limited. If you have a handler, please have them transport you to the
start. You should plan to allow at lease one and one half-hours to drive from
Duluth to Beaver Bay, then the start is another 16+ miles, so please allow
additional time. Please be very careful and watch out for deer. There are
construction projects from time to time so allow for this in your travel plans.
